As I looked at the goal statement I wrote to apply for this program, it is clear how little I knew about technology. In just a short amount of time, this program has introduced me to so many technologies. This program has allowed me to learn that there is a large amount of great Web 2.0 programs available and that many are free and easily accessible. I remember that when we applied we were given an opportunity to create a video goal statement instead of a written one. I had no idea how to do that and how to post it online for someone to view. I still have a lot to learn in using technology in the classroom but I feel I have come a long way and am looking forward to the rest of this MAET journey.
The reason I chose this title is that this is my overall view of my journey through the MAET program. I know this title would suggest that I am setting a lofty goal, but it was the name of a group name we created to describe who wanted to be when we were done with this program. I want to be able to share as much as I can with my students and especially with my colleagues. Over the past five semesters, I have learned that technology is just not something that you add to lesson to make it different. Technology can drive the instruction of the course and give students opportunities to express their creativity while still using critical thinking skills.
